1. Have a dip and a sip at this rooftop bar in SoHo: JIMMY

SoHo, New York

Known as one of NYC’s best rooftop bars, JIMMY is a refined, vintage-inspired contemporary bar surrounded by panoramic views of Midtown Manhattan. Complete with a working fireplace, leather and mahogany detailing, and one of the few rooftop pools in the city, JIMMY offers a unique rooftop experience for any kind of bash.

Expert mixologists craft specialty cocktails, like a pomegranate and rosemary gin & tonic or a grilled pineapple mojito. Wine is also available by the glass or the bottle, and snacks include cheeseburger sliders, fresh chocolate chip cookies, and even a caviar service if you’re feeling fancy.

The 2,400 sq. ft. space is equally split between indoor and outdoor areas, and can accommodate 150 for a full buyout.

2. An almost-SoHo rooftop bar above the clouds: CloudM Bowery

SoHo, NYC

Sure, maybe this rooftop bar is bordering the Lower East Side, but at 20 stories high (the highest on our list) it’s worth the few-minute detour. This chic indoor/outdoor venue boasts 360 views over the Lower East Side and up towards the skyscrapers of Midtown. The spacious terrace is simply decorated with the hotel’s signature red color (allowing the skyline to shine), and in cooler weather you can enjoy the view from the floor-to-ceiling windows inside.

Beloved Chinatown cafe Nom Wah provides snacks, and you can order dim sum and dumplings to your table. Cocktails are named things like “spritz!!!! spritz!!!!” (mezcal, rosé, honey, lemon) – which, with views like that, the exclamation points are justified.

The CloudM rooftop is available to rent for private and semi-private events of up to 200 attendees.

3. A rooftop bar with MET-worthy views: A.R.T. SoHo

SoHo, New York

Head to this casual rooftop bar for an easy evening hangout after a long day of shopping and catching up with friends. Above the Arlo Hotel, you can enjoy sunset views at a reasonable height and look across the Hudson to spot the Statue of Liberty. DJs spin great tunes throughout the week, and an indoor bar is also available if the weather isn’t on your side.

The 3,000 sq. ft. venue can host up to 250 guests reception-style, and a variety of comfortable seating arrangements are easy to customize, made up of neutral-colored couches and white wicker chairs.

The cocktail menu features a variety of tried & true classics, seasonal gems, and frozen drinks ideal to sip on in the NYC heat. Try the Honeydew Royale with gin, honeydew, and lavender, or one of the flavored frozen margaritas or frosés. Local beers and wines are available, as well as oysters, sandwiches, and tacos.

4. A sparkling duplex rooftop bar in SoHo: Bar Hugo

SoHo, NYC

This stylish two-floor rooftop is on the 18th floor of the Hotel Hugo, on the west side of SoHo. A constellation of blown-glass pendants and a blend of leather, chrome, and concrete finishes make this rooftop a sophisticated setting for any event year-round: the glass-enclosed space showcases views of the Hudson on one side and the skyline on the other.

Handcrafted specialty cocktails include elevated flavors like thyme liqueur, lemongrass, elderflower, and rhubarb bitters. A curated list of wine is also available, as well as seasonal beers on draft from Montauk. Bar snacks include chicken poppers, tacos, sliders, and chocolate chip cookies. There’s nothing like the sheer danger of scoffing a warm, gooey treat in a cocktail dress while looking out at the Manhattan skyline.

Bar Hugo can accommodate up to 115 guests for private events.
