Discover The Tanks at Tate Modern—London’s most distinctive venue for large-scale events.
Originally a power station, Tate Modern opened in 2000 and quickly became the UK’s most popular modern art gallery, showcasing both British and international masterpieces.
As part of a major expansion in 2012, the oil tanks were excavated and transformed into one-of-a-kind event spaces, officially opening in 2016. These vast, circular spaces are located within the foundations of the Blavatnik Building, preserving their raw industrial charm. Each Tank spans over 30 meters in diameter and rises 7 meters high, creating a dramatic and atmospheric setting for any event. The Tanks are now a permanent venue for live art, performances, and events. With seating for up to 400 guests and standing capacity for up to 600, they are perfect for hosting large award ceremonies, prestigious dinners, receptions, brand activations, grand galas, and fashion shows.
Please note: The Tanks are available for hire only during September, November, and December.
