For a very French Christmas meal (minus the hasty Eurostar trip), head to Greek Street’s L’Escargot. The long-standing restaurant and private members club has served the finest French cuisine to guests (public figures and the general public alike), just a few years shy of a century. Think baked lobster, coq au vin and some of the best wines Soho has to offer.

Christmas dinners can be hosted in their 36-person private dining room, Le Vert, which as expected is a pistachio-coloured room – accented with decorative ceilings, a grand chandelier and accented curtains and chairs.

Expect a festive menu du jour of stuffed roast turkey, Christmas puddings, a special cheese platter, and of course lots of wine. Santé!

The Denman Street venue is Soho’s answer to a cool Christmas dinner in New York. Offering a menu that serves sliders, mac and cheese balls, cheeseburger dumplings, toffee puddings and eggnog shots, it’s a swift departure from your run-of-the-mill Christmas dinner.

In true city style, guests are welcomed by the venue’s neon signs, exposed brick walls, and general cool aesthetic that’d be ideal for a festive feast with friends. For a larger Christmas dinner with up to 60 seated guests, the entire venue can be privately hired.

Located at one of the Marquee Club’s former sites is 100 Wardour Street. Across multiple floors, the eponymous party and restaurant venue offers guests multiple spaces to drink, dine and celebrate.

From the Club and Atrium to the Lounge spaces, Christmas dinners can be as bustling or intimate as you’d like. For an after-work festive dinner, head to the Playroom, a space that seats up to 12 guests.

Expect many glasses of bubbly, a choice of turkey, pescatarian and veggie options as well as puddings, tarts and crumbles. In between courses and gossip, the billiards table and TV offer some much-needed entertainment.

Just outside Soho’s square mile is the decidedly chic British restaurant Berners Tavern. Nestled inside the London Edition hotel, expect to find wall-to-wall paintings, low lighting, intimate booths and a standout bar stocked with enough to make any festive cocktail.

For parties with up to 250 guests, the entire venue can be hired, but for smaller occasions, a private dining room just above the restaurant is ready for parties of up to 12.

To set the evening off, diners can expect a multi-course feast that is equal parts festive, seasonal and celebratory – as expected of a restaurant headed by a Michelin-star chef.

Nestled in Soho’s Kingly Court is Dehesa, the laid-back tapas restaurant and bar. Bringing together influences from Northern Spain and Italy, this Soho venue offers a year-round relaxed atmosphere and a seasonal food and drinks menu – with favourites including the baby squid and the croquetas.

Come Christmas, Dehesa carries on the communal theme with a seasonal tapas menu, and a wines and cocktail list to put anyone in the merriest of moods. Offering a separate private dining room, head downstairs for an intimate Christmas dinner with up to 16 guests.
