The Village Roadshow Theatrette (VRT) has fixed raked seating capacity for 200 and features fully integrated multimedia equipment, all with remote panel control.

Lecture tablets are fitted to all seats. Two rows are also fitted with power outlets to enable easy use of personal technology. Disability access is paramount with 4 wheelchair spaces, an audio loop and wheel chair access to the stage.

The VRT is one of few purpose built theatre settings available for event use in Melbourne’s CBD. Used to great effect in conjunction with the adjacent seminar rooms or when used amongst the various other library spaces for breakout requirements and social programs.

This spectacular 19th century gallery creates an atmosphere of prestige, refinement and exclusivity. Surrounded by an eclectic mix of original paintings from the Library's vast collection the large room is a central point in the Library between the Redmond Barry and La Trobe Reading Rooms.

This space once housed items from the Melbourne Museum as well as being the original home of the National Gallery of Victoria. With high ceilings, and ornate finishing, the venue is simply classic in every way. Accommodating up to 400 people, it is definitely the space of choice for guests looking to enjoy a lavish dinner, fundraiser, oration or any other elegant event.

A unique Melbourne venue, Conversation Quarter showcases 3 centuries of architecture in the one venue, including the original bluestone wall from the 1850s, the Edwardian arched windows of the La Trobe Reading Room, topped with postmodern roofing.

Conversation Quarter

This elegant gallery provides a stunning backdrop for an intimate dinner or memorable cocktail party. The North Rotunda is a public gallery, with regularly changing exhibitions.

This iconic space is suited to smaller groups, still keen to experience the grandeur of dining in State Library Victoria. It can accommodate up to 90 guests.  A separate airlock entry has been added to create access to the newly renovated Victoria Gallery adding to the flexibility and appeal of this beautiful venue.

Opened in 1856 as the Library’s original reading room, The Ian Potter Queen’s Hall is one of Melbourne’s most breathtaking historical venues.

Having undergone significant renovations, The Ian Potter Queens Hall has been miraculously restored to reveal it’s original 19th century heritage design.

By day, The Ian Potter Queen’s Hall is open to the public as a reading room and is home to the Australian literature, chess and bridge collections. By night, it is available to transform into a one of a kind special event space, taking full advantage of its historic setting and gorgeous features. This hall can accommodate up to 500 guests.

With entry via a grand marble staircase, the hall lends a sense of drama and exclusivity to any occasion, and is equipped with a dedicated suite of banquet furniture and integrated AV.

Meticulously restored to its former glory, the reading room features custom built desks of Queensland silky oak timber, heritage chairs and traditional green reading lamps. This stunning space can accommodate up to 520 guests. With the domed galleries rising 6 stories around the octagonal reading room, each housing a rotating exhibition including Ned Kelly’s original armour. La Trobe Reading Room

The Hellenic Museum was founded in 2007, with a mission to inspire Australians about Hellenic culture from the ancient to the contemporary.

The Hellenic Museum was founded by the late Melbourne businessman and philanthropist Spiros Stamoulis . Having emigrated from Greece to Australia as a 12 year old in the 1950s, Spiros went on to build a series of successful businesses which enabled him to give back to the city which had embraced both him and his family.

The former Royal Mint is of architectural significance as one of the most impressive 19th century government buildings in Victoria, and one of few Australian buildings in the true Renaissance revival style, and a virtual copy of the Palazzo Vidoni Caffarelli , attributed to Raphael, in Rome.

Sean Godsell ‘s much anticipated M Pavilion officially opened to the public on 7 October 2014. Now having been permanently relocated from the Queen Victoria Gardens to the Hellenic Museum courtyard, the structure is intended to be reminiscent of the Aboriginal humpy, both in form and function. It is a place to gather, converse and connect.

And it still serves that purpose today. With a combined capacity for 500 cocktail, including wet weather coverage for up to 200 guests, it provides a secluded secret garden in the heart of the CBD. A fully integrated bar, and kitchen facility ensure a high level of service whatever your style of event.

A well-established venue which has been a primary event space on the South Wharf precinct since 2014. The venue is beautifully developed as a premium space for events ranging from social to corporate occasions and product launches.

Showtime Events Centre is the birthplace and flagship venue of Showtime Event Group. Originally known as docking shed 11 during Melbourne’s formative days in the 1800’s, this heritage venue has lived an exciting life. Situated along South Wharf Promenade, parallel to the Yarra River and gazing over the Melbourne city skyline. Showtime Events Centre maintains the proximity and prowess of the CBD while remaining true to the rich history of the wharf.

The warehouse-style venue was repurposed and redesigned in 2010, solely for events. Purpose built features are apparent upon entry. Fully integrated lighting, sound desk and audiovisual are the expected minimum at this riverside venue. A custom-designed chandelier bar is always an attention-grabber as it sits down the far end of the venue above the large stone bar top.

Original, wide hardwood floorboards provide a nod to a bygone era seldom available anywhere in Melbourne. Full amenities including a modern green room and elegant bathrooms add an air of luxury into what is considered to be a great example of industrial-influenced design.
