Looking for some fresh venue inspiration? There’s been plenty of new venue openings to generate a renewed buzz; from stylish boutique hotels and re-imagined gems, there’s an array of options to breathe new life into your events. We’ve curated some of our favourite recent openings (alongside some upcoming venues to keep an eye out for).

Melbourne Place

Melbourne CBD, VIC

Capacity: 300 standing for Emerald & Sage Bar

Freshly opened in November, Melbourne Place brings unique design and stylish interiors to the CBD’s Russel Street. You may have already seen the chic Mid Air Terrace across social media; however, this boutique hotel offers a variety of event spaces that look equally as sleek. Emerald & Sage Bar is the largest space, combining a mirrored ceiling and the latest AV with its own open-air terrace and adjoining mirrored bar. Magenta is the smallest of the spaces and is primed for meetings and more intimate dining celebrations. Draped in a rich pink hue, it certainly makes an impression.

Byblós Brisbane

Hamilton, QLD

Capacity: 300 standing for Exclusive Hire

A beloved gem reinvented, Byblós reopened its doors in November last year. Light, bright and paying homage to its namesake, the ancient Lebanese city of Byblos, you’ll be treated to premium touches of marble, terrazzo and rich natural hues throughout. Enjoy vistas over the Brisbane River at the Riverside Terrace, or hire the entire venue for up to 300 guests. With a delicious selection of Lebanese plates and fresh cocktails, you’ll want to head to Portside Wharf to see it for yourself.

Cucina Regina

Brisbane City

Capacity: 160 seated

The expansion of Queen’s Wharf has been much anticipated; Cucina Regina is a stylish addition to an already impressive lineup. Dine on classic Italian cuisine amidst stylish murals and an interior that instantly transports you to Italy. Cucina Regina boasts a blend of both indoor and alfresco dining, or for more intimate celebrations, the stylish private dining room can accommodate up to 18 seated. With a curated selection of Italian wines and refreshing cocktails, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Lottie

Redfern, NSW

Capacity: 28 seated for West Wing

A part of the freshly opened (and much anticipated) EVE Hotel, Mexican restaurant Lottie opened its doors in late January. Situated in the vibrant new Wunderlich Lane precinct in Redfern, expect a lush rooftop oasis with traditional Mexican flavours. A retractable glass roof ensures your celebrations can continue no matter the weather, alongside a stylish selection of booth and table seating. The drinks menu is just as curated as the cuisine, with an enviable collection of tequila, mezcal, agave and boutique wines designed to pair perfectly with sunset views.

SaltBox

Redfern, NSW

Capacity: 460 standing for Exclusive Hire

Set to open in May, SaltBox is another addition to the upcoming Wunderlich Lane precinct in Redfern. Boasting design from the renowned team at Bates Smart alongside catering from Cook & Waiter, their spaces blend sleek design for a range of events. The Box is their largest (and pillarless) event space, utilising eco-friendly materials with sculpted interiors. Each space opens up to a breezy terrace overlooking the Lane, adding a picturesque backdrop to your event.

1 Hotel

Docklands, VIC

Capacity: 900

Spanning an impressive international portfolio, 1 Hotel will land in Melbourne in May. Combining sustainability with luxury right on the Yarra River, the new hotel will boast 280 guest rooms, alongside an event centre for up to 900 guests. Expect an array of stylish meeting rooms, dining and a private bar, centered around Victorian produce. Incorporating sustainability throughout both its construction and green energy production long after opening, the hotel is a fantastic way to incorporate your own sustainability goals.
